GMX-200 Options

Traffic Option
The Garmin GMX-200 Multi-function display becomes even more functional with the addition of traffic display capability. An upgraded version of the GMX-200 will display traffic targets from both Goodrich Skywatch™ and Avidyne TCAD™ products. Traffic display capability is now available on new GMX200s and as an upgrade to older MX20s.

Both the Skywatch and TCAD products offer TCAS I - like depictions of airborne traffic up to a range of about 35 miles. In the GMX-200, these traffic targets can be overlaid on a pilot selected moving map for maximum situational awareness.

List price for the GMX 200 with traffic display capability is $8,495, compared to $7,295 for an GMX 200 without traffic display capability. A hardware and software upgrade that enables traffic display on existing MX20s will be available at a list price of $1,700.

Traffic and Radar
Garmin AT has unveiled a new version of the versatile GMX 200 Multi-function display that allows users to display weather information from the popular Honeywell/Bendix King RDR 2000 digital color radar system. Dubbed the MX20-IO, the versatile new display is also capable of displaying traffic targets from both Goodrich Skywatch™ and Ryan TCAD™ products.

The GMX 200-IO includes the standard GMX 200 display modes including: terrain awareness, VFR navigation, IFR navigation and data uplink. Additionally, the GMX 200-IO can be outfitted with the unique Chart View™ feature, which lets the user overlay the aircraft position on a Jeppesen instrument approach chart or airport surface map.

These new features offer tremendous benefit to owners of radar-equipped aircraft who want the enhanced situational awareness that the GMX 200 provides, but don't have the panel space for both a radar display and a Multi-function display.

Garmin AT can upgrade existing GMX 200's to include the radar and traffic enhancements by adding new hardware and software via a factory upgrade. In addition to the weather radar display capability, the GMX 200-IO provides full control capability, such as tilt, bearing, gain and range.

List price for the new GMX 200-IO is $14,995 and includes the standard GMX 200 features along with the display for RDR 2000 weather radar, Skywatch and TCAD traffic. List price for the hardware and software upgrades to enable traffic and weather radar features on existing MX20's is $8,200. Chart View Option
Chart View functions are based on the popular Jeppesen Electronic Airway Manual Service. Familiar Jeppesen instrument approach charts and airport-surface diagrams are viewed with the aircraft position overlaid on the GMX 200 high-resolution color display. The GMX 200 with Chart View is the first and only panel-mounted aircraft instrument capable of integrating Jeppesen instrument approach and airports surface charts in a moving map display. Additionally, Chart View displays Standard Instrument Arrival and Departure charts (SIDs and STARs). Charts are available through Jeppesen's JeppView for Garmin GMX 200 data subscription service.
